The Shovel Playin’ Man is Kevin Assoun.
From Canada’s Eastern seaboard, to the West Coast of Vancouver Island. From the great Yukon in the north to the 49th parallel and beyond, Kevin Assoun has seen it all. With an electric guitar and a heart and soul jam packed with talent, Kevin has performed at every venue imaginable. Entertaining thousands at an outdoor festival or just a handful at a country roadstop. Kevin can be counted on to give his all.
Kevin has travelled this country from coast to coast learning the musical ropes and swapping stories with many of Canada’s musical greats. Family Brown, Terry Carisse, Carol Baker,Vic Mullens, Rita McNeil. He’s rubbed elbows with the likes of Vince Gill, Johnny Cash, and Willie Nelson.
Kevin has been invited to perform on numerous television shows and live radio shows including two invitations to the Grand Old Opry. Newspaper articles of course are abundant. Kevin holds a special place in his heart for Cape Breton, the place of his birth, but after all his travels he has decided to settle on the West Coast of Canada.
